PROJECT 1A: SITE ANALYSIS AND DESIGN RESPONSE
Site Analysis & Design Response establishes an understanding of the context for intervention. In assigned tutorial groups, students will conduct site visit to identify the physical as well as the intangible qualities that shape the character of the site. Engagement with site users will establish the needs of the community at site. As the Design Response of the Site Analysis stage, students will work with their tutorial group to draw up a new plan for the demarcated site area through the design of a Kebun Komuniti Plan, which will serve as the base for Project 1B: Architectural Allotment and Project 2: P3KU Kebun Komuniti Center

SITE ANALYSIS TASKS
REFLECTION
This task was quite challenging, at first, as a non-local, since we had to interview the locals in the neighborhood of the site. However, due to great teamwork and equal delegation of tasks within the group, it was more enjoyable and easier to tackle. Furthermore, while working on this task, an important lesson I learned was that it is crucial to consider and understand the pov's of all the stakeholders of the site.
PROJECT 1B: ARCHITECTURAL ALLOTMENT
PROJECT OVERVIEW
In a space of 3m x 6m x 3m (height), students are to propose the space and system (hanging, climbing, hydroponic etc.) for growing plants (no less than 60% of the total area) with the integration of elements for seating (2-3 people), shelter (in the form of partial screens or roofs) and storage (for gardening tools, seeds, fertilizers etc.). The system for growing plants and the elements for seating, shelter and storage should be integrated and not be seen as separate parts of the allotment. The design should take into consideration the needs of the users from the P3KU Urban Farm.
REFLECTION
I quite enjoyed the design process for this project as I found this task to be more of a challenge on creativity. It inspired me to study and practise interactive and sensorial design which I found to be interesting. However, teamwork wise, it was quite challenging because of the heavy workload for a group of three.
PROJECT 2: P3KU KEBUN KOMUNITI CENTRE
PROJECT OVERVIEW
The task involves creating a design for the P3KU Kebun Komuniti Center, situated within the Kebun Komuniti Plan at the P3KU Urban Farm in USJ18 Park. Currently, this location serves as a non-profit project for employing disabled teens. Students are expected to develop comprehensive design proposals by incorporating findings from site analysis and precedent studies. The proposed designs should be environmentally responsive and considerate of the community's needs and the given context. The focus is on exploring sustainable design solutions that minimize environmental impact through diverse spatial organization typologies and passive strategies. The ultimate goal is to ensure the design complements the surrounding environment and site, providing an exceptional spatial experience that fosters a sense of community.
